Snowmobile Trail Conditions
Fri. Feb. 3 - 12:00 PM
A fair number of sleds out and around Amherst and Springhill, reporting a few rock clicks here and there, but certainly passable. Logging and fire roads around the clubhouse wil be good. Still no grooming action to report.
The woods road (Keith Crowe’s sugar woods) has been plowed yesterday (Trail 30 between 3/30 intersection and 104/30 intersection but there should be some ice on it at least.
Wed. Feb. 1 - 10:00 PM
We have 10 - 12" down in Northern NS with a couple more to fall overnight and Thursday morning.
As of Thursday, our trail system will be considered open.
There are two trail closures to report:
- Trail 1A is closed from Wyndham Hill down to Cobequid Mountain Sports due to beavers flooding one of the bridges
- Trail 2 is closed due to logging operations
There is premium gas available at the clubhouse and we expect it to be open this weekend for food and fuel.
Remember the February meeting will be held at the clubhouse on Saturday night at 7:00 PM.
There are no immediate plans for grooming as the snow has too much air in it and we need it to get beat into the trail a bit first.
Wed. Feb. 1 - 8:00 AM

Snowfall Warning
Issued at 4:42 AM AST Wednesday 1 February 2012
Summary
Snowfall amounts of 15 cm are expected today. This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions
Friday Jan. 13 - 8:00 AM
We received 10 cm plus overnight and it is -1° this morning. Forecast calls for some wind and showers and temps as high as 8 or 10° later today which is not encouraging. There is frost in the ground so hopefully some of this snow will last and when it freezes again tomorrow we will have the required base. Trails are still closed.
